IIT Palakkad Director along with the District Collector visits Attappadi
A team from IIT Palakkad, led by Professor A. Seshadri Sekhar, Director of the institute, recently visited the village of Aanava Ooru in Attapadi. Accompanied by District Collector Dr. S Chitra, the team comprised of faculty members and staff who undertook the visit as part of their outreach initiative and commitment to making a positive impact in society. The primary objective of the visit was to study the local situation and identify areas where IIT Palakkad could provide support to the residents.
During the initial round of discussions, it was suggested that IIT Palakkad take the lead in offering vocational courses to the community. By equipping the residents with practical hands-on training, IIT Palakkad aims to enhance their skill sets and empower them with valuable knowledge. In addition to vocational training, IIT Palakkad has also pledged to extend its support in the commercialization of locally produced farm goods. This initiative will help in ensuring the economic sustainability of the community, providing them with access to wider markets and better opportunities for growth.
