Seminar on US Education opportunities

The Office of International and Alumni Relations at IIT Palakkad welcomed Ms. Shanthi Mohan, Adviser at EducationUSA, United States-India Educational Foundation, Chennai, on October 5, 2023. During her visit, Ms. Mohan met with Prof. A. Seshadri Sekhar, Professor and Director, to discuss funding opportunities and scholarships for students. She also conducted an engaging one-hour session for our students who aspire to study in the United States. This interactive session covered various aspects of the U.S. university application process, including the U.S. higher education system, university selection, funding options, standardized tests, English proficiency exams, and application components such as statements of purpose, diversity statements, research statements, personal statements, resumes, and the application process for master's and Ph.D. programs. Additionally, she provided insights into credential evaluation, the student visa process, U.S. classrooms, preparations for departure, and internship opportunities.
