Indo-French Scientific and Academic Cooperation : Tools and mechanisms

An efficient international cooperation assisting a link between scientific research and industrial leadership is an absolute necessity to address the societal challenges that we are confronted with. In this brief presentation, we present an overview of Indo-French collaborative mechanisms.

Under the Horizon Europe, the European Union proposes Collaborative Research Grants, Researchers Mobility (Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions including PhD, Post-Doc and short-term mobility of research and innovation faculty); and European Research Council (ERC) grants that support individual researchers of any nationality and age who wish to pursue their frontier research.

Further, we discuss CEFIPRA, the Indo-French Centre for Promotion of Advanced Research, and the international collaborative programs of “Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique” CNRS. CNRS is the largest scientific organization in Europe. CNRS has put in place several mechanisms to establish scientific cooperation between the international scientific community and the CNRS labs. These mechanisms include International Emerging Actions, International Research Networks, International Research Programs among others.

In this presentation, we intend to provide an overview on the mechanisms that facilitate interaction between India and the EU with an emphasis on France and on CNRS.
