
UNCHAIN Grand Finale: A Youth-Driven Ideathon to Combat Drug Abuse
In observance of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, the District Administration Palakkad organised the UNCHAIN Grand Finale in association with Unnat Bharat Abhiyan UBA RCI IIT Palakkad and other departments, a youth-driven ideathon aimed at empowering students to think, speak and act against the menace of drug abuse. The event was held at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Palakkad, bringing together the top 12 teams from across all 7 taluks who participated in the taluk-level competitions.
The ideathon, which was part of the UNCHAIN initiative, saw 91 teams participating in the initial rounds, with the top 12 teams selected to present their ideas at the grand finale. The event was supported by various organizations, including the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan, Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan, Kerala State Excise Department, Indian Institute of Technology Palakkad, Department of General Education, Social Justice Department, and the District Collector’s Internship Programme (DCIP) Palakkad. The UNCHAIN Grand Finale provided a platform for young minds to come together and share their ideas on how to combat drug abuse and build a drug-free future.
