Samagra 2025: Fostering Innovation in the Sanitation Sector
TECHIN SaniTech Startup Conclave was held on March 26-27, 2025, at Grand Meydan, Distrikt 9, Palakkad. The event convened industry leaders, entrepreneurs, and innovators for in-depth discussions on sanitation technology, entrepreneurship, and industry growth. A key highlight was the participation of 17 TECHIN-incubated SaniTech startups, which showcased groundbreaking solutions in WaSH technology
The conclave commenced with an inaugural address by Prof. A. Seshadri Sekhar, Director, IIT Palakkad and Chairman of TECHIN, setting the stage for meaningful discussions and knowledge exchange. Dr. Arvind Ajoy delivered the welcome address, followed by insightful sessions featuring distinguished speakers -Prof. Saji Gopinath (Professor, IIM Kozhikode)
Mr. Viju Parameshwar (Former CEO India, Freudenberg Group, Germany & Advisory Council Member, IIT Palakkad) and Mr. S. Muralidharan (Chairman, Mobility Aftermarket) Entrepreneurship Development Program (EDP) Certification. The event featured the certificate distribution for the Entrepreneurship Development Program (EDP), conducted by IIM Kozhikode in collaboration with TECHIN and HDFC Bank Parivartan. The certificates were presented by Prof. A. Seshadri Sekhar and Prof. Saji Gopinath, recognizing the entrepreneurial efforts of the participants.
Dr. Praveena Gangadharan presented the initiatives of the Global Sanitation Center of Excellence (GSCOE), emphasizing its role in fostering innovation in the sanitation sector. The inaugural session concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Mr. Midhu Unnithan, Chief Operating Officer, TECHIN, IIT Palakkad. A panel discussion on entrepreneurship and business growth featured perspectives from various industry experts.A key highlight of the conclave was the startup pitch session, offering entrepreneurs a platform to present their solutions and receive expert feedback, further enhancing their business prospects.
Day two of the conclave featured an engaging session on Emotional Quotient in Leadership conducted by Ms. Vinitha Joseph, followed by an exclusive visit to the GSCOE Lab.
