IIT Palakkad organises hands-on electrical workshop for school students

The Department of Electrical Engineering at Indian Institute of Technology Palakkad organised a one-day hands-on workshop, “Spark It! – From Concepts to Circuits,” for high school and higher secondary school students at the institute. The workshop was aimed at bridging classroom learning in Physics with practical experience through simple electrical circuits, interactive demonstrations and hands-on activities. A total of 44 students from five schools, accompanied by nine teachers, participated in the programme.
The participating schools included Government Victoria Girls Higher Secondary School, Chittur; Government Technical High School, Marutharoad, Palakkad; Ashramam High School, Malampuzha; Kannadi Higher Secondary School, Kannadi; and Government Boys Higher Secondary School, Chittur. The practical sessions were led by Harikrishnan S., PhD Scholar, Department of Electrical Engineering, IIT Palakkad. The students were introduced to basic electrical concepts through demonstrations and guided activities that enabled them to build and explore simple circuits and basic controller systems. 
The programme was organised by Dr. Arun Rahul S., Associate Professor, Department of Electrical Engineering, while Sanil Sharahudeen, Technical Superintendent, coordinated the event. At the valedictory session, Dr. Swaroop Sahoo, Dean Student Affairs, distributed certificates to the participating students and honoured the accompanying teachers.
