Dr. HimaBindu Maripini is an Assistant Professor in Department of Civil Engineering at IIT Palakkad. Her research aims to create resilient transport systems that enhance traffic operations on urban arterials. Her long-term vision is to advance integrated transport operations frameworks that connect planning, control and real-time management.

Prior to joining IIT Palakkad, Dr. HimaBindu worked as an Assistant Professor at BITS Pilani during 2025-2026. She has pursued her Postdoctoral Research for two years at The University of Queensland, Australia. As a part of her post doctoral research, she actively collaborated with the Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) and other research partners, translating analytical findings into practical mobility solutions. She received her Ph.D. from Indian Institute of Technology Madras, which involves development of probe-based adaptive traffic control algorithms that are applicable under both homogenous and heterogenous traffic conditions, that is first of its kind. She pursued her Masters in Transportation Systems Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, where she received the Academic Excellence Award from the Indus Foundation and Bachelors in Civil Engineering from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Anantapur.
