Strengthening Academic Ties : IIT Palakkad hosted Prof. Gopikrishna Deshpande

The International Relations Office, IIT Palakkad was delighted to host Prof. Gopikrishna Deshpande from Auburn University, USA, for a day of academic interactions and collaborative discussions aimed at strengthening international research partnerships.

Prof. Deshpande was welcomed by Prof. A. Seshadri Sekhar, Director, IIT Palakkad; Dr. Arvind Ajoy, Dean, ICSR, Dr. Vivek Chaturvedi, Associate Dean ICSR, Dr. V. Senthilkumar,  Dean Infrastructure and Dr Sahely Bhadra, Associate Professor, Department of  Data Science. The meeting focused on exploring opportunities for collaborative research, faculty and student exchange, and other academic initiatives between the two institutions. The visit was followed by an engaging research interaction with interested faculty members from across departments, where ongoing research activities and potential areas for future collaboration were discussed.

Prof. Deshpande also visited the iMSM (Intelligent Multimodal Sensing and Modelling) Research Lab, where students demonstrated their experimental setups and showcased their ongoing research. The International Relations Office then hosted an interactive session with students, during which Prof. Deshpande introduced Auburn University, highlighting its world-class research facilities and study opportunities. The session concluded with an engaging Q&A, where students interacted with him and gained valuable insights into pursuing higher studies and research at Auburn University.
