Aarambh 2026: Student Entrepreneurship Development Program at IIT Palakkad
Technology Innovation Foundation of IIT Palakkad (TECHIN), successfully organized Aarambh, a three-day Student Entrepreneurship Development Program (EDP) with the objective of nurturing innovation, entrepreneurial thinking, and startup readiness among students. Around 40 students representing 22 institutions from various regions participated in the program, demonstrating strong interest and enthusiasm for innovation and entrepreneurship.
The program was inaugurated by Prof. A. Seshadri Sekhar, Director, IIT Palakkad and Chairman, TECHIN, in the presence of Mr. Jayashankar, Managing Director, Jayon Implants Pvt. Ltd.; Dr. Arvind Ajoy, Dean – ICSR, IIT Palakkad and Director, TECHIN; Dr. Vivek Chaturvedi, Associate Dean – ICSR, IIT Palakkad and Director, TECHIN; and Mr. Midhu Unnithan, Chief Operating Officer, TECHIN.
Over the three days, participants engaged in a series of interactive sessions, workshops, and hands-on learning activities covering key aspects of entrepreneurship, including understanding the startup ecosystem, business model development, idea validation, prototyping, intellectual property awareness, startup financing, and company registration processes. The program also emphasized design thinking and structured problem-solving approaches to enable students to
develop impactful and scalable solutions.
As part of the experiential learning component, participants visited IIT Palakkad and the IIT Palakkad Technology IHub Foundation (IPTIF) Lab, gaining exposure to the innovation ecosystem as well as the testing and rapid prototyping facilities. The program also included interactions with startup founders, offering valuable insights into real-world entrepreneurial journeys and challenges.The event concluded with participant presentations showcasing innovative ideas developed during the program, followed by a valedictory session and certificate distribution.
Aarambh provided a comprehensive platform for students to strengthen their entrepreneurial mindset, gain practical knowledge, and build the confidence required to transform ideas into successful ventures.
