Dr. Sreenath Vijayakumar, associate professor, Department of electrical engineering, IIT Palakkad has received the prestigious Indian National Academy of Engineering (INAE) Young Engineer Award and INAE Young Associate during the INAE Annual Convention held during December 18-20, 2025 at HAL, Bengaluru.

The Indian National Academy of Engineering (INAE), established in 1987, represents India's most distinguished engineers, technologists & innovators nurturing professional excellence and impact. This recognition is a testament to Dr. Sreenath’s outstanding contributions in the Sensors and Electronic Instrumentation domain. Especially for the development of the world’s first-of-its-kind Fuel Sensor for Monitoring Level, Dual Axis Tilt and Petrol-Ethanol Composition; and also for the development of the Innovative Farm Monitoring Device to assess soil, plant, and meteorological parameters for improved agricultural efficiency.

Dr. Sreenath Vijayakumar is a researcher specializing in advanced sensor systems for agricultural, automotive, and industrial applications. He currently heads SATCARD.in, India’s first-of-its-kind farmer-centric deep-tech research centre established at IIT Palakkad.
