Academic and Cultural Exchange: IIT Palakkad at Sakura Science Program 2024
The Sakura Science Program(SSP) 2024, hosted by Nagaoka University of Technology(NUT) in Japan from December 15 to 21, provided a valuable platform for fostering academic collaboration and cultural exchange. This prestigious program, organized by the Japan Science and Technology Agency(JST), aimed to promote international cooperation and scientific advancement. It reflected the Japanese government’s commitment to attracting talented young individuals from various countries, including India, thereby enriching their academic and professional ecosystems.
IIT Palakkad participated in the program for the first time, represented by three students Mr. Atarva, B.Tech; Mr. Aravind, M.Tech; and Mr. Akshay, research scholar along with faculty member Dr. Kesavan D. from the Department of Mechanical Engineering. They joined participants from IIT Madras in this unique experience. During the academic interactions, students had the opportunity to learn advanced techniques in Additive Manufacturing.
