74th Republic Day Celebrated at IIT Palakkad

The IIT Palakkad community gathered this morning at 9am, at Nila Campus, to celebrate Republic Day. Director Prof Seshadri Sekhar hoisted the flag, accompanied by the singing of the national anthem.

In his address, Prof Sekhar called for celebrating the spirit of the Constitution, nurturing gratitude for the work of nation-builders, and committing at the individual level, to the betterment of our country in the best possible manner that one is capable of. Describing Independence Day and Republic Day as the true festivals of our country, he highlighted the challenge of inclusive development and the role of science and technology in making that possible.

As is the practice, the Housekeeping staff were appreciated for the valuable services they render all through the year. The event concluded with a cultural program by the students and the distribution of sweets.
