Viksit Bharat@2047: IIT Palakkad Empowers students with a Session on 'Rising Nari Shakti'
As an outreach effort, IIT Palakkad hosted a transformative session today, echoing the vision of 'Amrit Kaal Vimarsh Viksit Bharat@2047,' for students from various government schools in the district. The session centered on 'Rising Nari Shakti: Women Empowerment in India.' Ms. Lavanya B IRPS, Divisional Personnel Officer, Southern Railways, led the session. The talk was complemented by an inspiring 'Can Do Workshop' organized by the NSS unit of IIT Palakkad in association with the Ullas Trust, an esteemed NGO based in Hyderabad. Engaging a total of 220 students from Govt Victoria Girls School Chittur, Govt High School Kanjikode, Govt High School Malampuzha, and KV Kanjikode, the event aimed to inspire and empower.
Ms. Lavanya, in her inspiring address, shared profound insights into her career journey and emphasized the transformative power of education and financial independence for empowerment. Ms. Lavanya also honored the 20 students who emerged as winners of the Ullas Merit Scholarship during the event. The 'Can Do Workshop' aimed to inspire attendees to dream big and provided guidance on how to reach their aspirations.
The event saw the presence of Dr. Ganesh Natarajan, Registrar in charge, IIT Palakkad, Prof. Jagadeesh Bayry, Dean Students, Dr. Rositha Kuniyil, Faculty In-charge NSS, and Ms. Chandrika and Mr. Prince from Ullas Trust.
